Mitt Romney officially a Birther Now - makes a birther joke in MI updated to add video

Romney: No One's Ever Asked To See My Birth Certificate

&feature=youtu.be

b]Mitt Romney: No one’s asked for my birth certificate

¬snip¬

It sure seemed like it Friday morning as he made remarks before a crowd of more than 1,000 here in Michigan, the state where he was born and raised.

“I love being home, in this place where both of us were raised,” Romney said as his wife, Ann, and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) stood next to him on the podium.

“No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate; they know that this is the place where both of us were born and raised,” he said.

Romney Jokes: ‘No One Ever Asked To See My Birth Certificate’

At a camoaign stop in his home state of Michigan Friday, Mitt Romney made a joke referencing the continued doubts about President Obama's birth certificate raised by Romney supporters like Donald Trump.

"I love being home, where but the both of us were born," Romney said after introducing his wife, fellow Michigan native Ann. "No one asked to see my birth certificate. They know this is where we were born and raised."

An Obama spokesperson watching the speech tweeted Romney was "keeping it substantive & classy" with the line.

If he needs to go birther right before the convention to keep the Akin revolters in line, he's in trouble.

It probably wasn't by design though. He's a gaffe factory to the point of self destruction. It's quite a marvel.

(I'm not)

Going birther will do nothing to help Rmoney's cause and will likely alienate even more voters.

I think he just made another in a long, long line of incredibly dumb comments.

I liked your "misplaced mass of fail" comment, BTW

Because -- if he was born and raised here, why doesn't he recognize his income and pay his taxes on it here?

The records of some of the companies he owns or invests a lot of his money in suggest that he is taking his income in the Caymans, and then letting it sit there until he can list it on his American tax forms as capital gains which are taxed at a very low rate if at all.

Birferism is a national embarrassment led by the same coneheads who may as well be saying "President Ni&&er", like Donald Trump and Sheriff Joe, for example. Sounds harsh? The whole insane hateful lot needs to be treated harsher. These people are assholes and Mitt has just thrown his hat in Sheriff Joe's arena.

Now it's time to grill Romney, Ryan and all of their surrogates about WHY the front runner of a major party ticket would make such a fringe issue comment. That he thought that it was important enough to imply that the President's own birth certificate needed to be questioned.

With this, plus Hurricane Akin, it should derail their party messaging going into the convention big time.

Yeah sure fella.
We just love your off-the-cuff "humor".
But tell us more, Mitt.
Why don't you explain to us
how and why your More-mon-ey Grandpa
left the US to live in Mexico...
in order to evade the oh-so-harsh
monogamy laws back here in the good ole USA?
Hmmm...it sure seems to me that YOUR family
has a long history of various kinds of offshore
or foreign evasions of various types,
whether they be birth-er,
or marital,
or tax-related.
Whatever.
Why don’t you
show us THOSE  birth certificates,
AND foreign tax shelters,
AND secret Swiss accounts,
AND tax returns?
People like you Mitt,
who live in multiple glass houses,
should be very careful when they start
slinging attack-humor stones, dear boy.
