I do believe that when one person is denied the right to vote because of some arcane law or practice is an affront to our democracy. Having political hacks at the state and local level cheapens the whole idea.

If I was Black or Brown and saw that far more of us were going off across the globe to do the dirty business of capitalism and "democracy", I would expect that our community would be respected by giving us the benefit of the doubt to vote.

We make it so easy for a Black or Brown person to take up arms and defend the capitalists properties or access to resource and now the party that supports war at the drop of the hat wants to make it more difficult for the families of those Black and Brown men and women to vote.

If I was a Black or Brown person I would be out there calling bullshit with a megaphone.

They love their bodies when they are in uniform but when it comes to allowing that person to vote...

1. it's easy to do- vote out of office ALL/ ANY repub/tea/libertarian and do so starting NOW.

vote every republican/libertarian/teaparty/extremist out of office.(FOR ALL POSITIONS) especially governor/rep/senate/president

(and then the courts will be picked by democrats, and ratified quickly)


and then make it plain and simple-all can vote. (if you want, make that read all citizens).

and first make amnesty and citizenship for those and then include them as all CITIZENS who can vote.

BTW-also make this darn "felony" rule go away- jaywalking should not mean you can't vote in some states, and make that "soundalike" name rule go away.

It's very easy to do- and one would think no one in the world would be against the notion of one person, one vote, everyone vote. The more the better.

It's also very easy to see who does not want that, therefore those have to be voted out of office.
(And make deleting names on voting rules a felony that means any and all who do so, will lose THEIR right to vote for 50 years...make it a major crime to do these things.)

and in 2012-those that can MUST vote, like 2008, no matter how long it takes, a wasted few hours on line, for your constitutional rights, is well worth it.
(and those others who don't have problems, need to take 5 people each to vote in their neighborhood, who might others not have gone.)

I would be happy with 100% voting (and for those voting to have their vote counted for who they voted for). Repub/tea/libertarians can NOT win when the vote is huge!(because their people seem to all come out and vote and have their vote counted, therefore every extra vote is a vote against them. Think about it.

2. I think the way a VP candidate is put on the ticket needs to be changed

I think that anyone that wants to be VP should be voted on by the people FIRST before they put on the general election ticket with the Presidential candidate.

Like ... let's say that before the presidential primary election season begins each and every pres candidate would have to name three people that they think would be qualified to be their running mate - someone that they would agree to work with.

Then during the whole presidential primary season when America is vetting the pres candidate they would be also have ample time to vet the VP candidates.

Then when the Pres candidate primary voting occurs a VP primary voting would also take place. The person that comes in 3rd place would be automatically dropped and the Pres candidate would have to pick between the top two.

At least this way America would actually be picking the VP (that would become president if the President were to drop dead) instead of just one person.

7. Internet Voting Proven Secure

Good topic! Internet voting has been used successfully in Estonia, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, India, Canada, and some US states for overseas military - Arizona, West Virginia. Why not whole US? The convenience of Internet voting of itself is empowering. Imagine watching debates online or TV. After each debate you turn to your PC, cell phone, or iPad. No time for tricky ads to mess w/ the voter's mind! Ads will become obsolete, big money won't matter.
