Star Membership - I just renewed/added

It's been a while since I made a "donation" to DU. Times have been rough economically. Still are. Maybe rougher than when last I contributed/subscribed. It's still not much, no where near what DU provides in terms of information, discussion, insight and inspiration. It was a one-time thing, but I hope to make more of them soon.

And it felt like the right thing to do. And continue doing, even after President Obama wins a 2nd term, the Democrats retain control of the Senate and the House - well, who knows? But there's still judges and governors and state legislatures that need us more than ever.

(Not my 1000th post, but getting close.

1. I renewed mine at the $42 right before they changed it back to 'pay what you can'

More than I could really afford and more than I always donated before, but it didn't feel right not having the star. I'm not really happy about it and I'll definitely be cancelling before the recurring payment kicks in.

Will be so glad when I don't have to look at the advertisements.

and impatiently awaiting my star (it hasn't been long enough, probably).
I am hoping that a star will get me good search results and
my back button will work again (darn double-click baloney).
Of course, I won't miss the "dating" ads...

edit to add I got my star and search works and no ads and i am happy
