NY Med makes me look at Surgeons as Gods among Us

Say what you want about healthcare, but Surgeons should be paid more than any CEO, never taxed, and treated like saviors of humanity.

If you've never watched the ABC show NY Med, do yourself a favor and catch an episode.

It's inspiring, frightening, and very human.

Really, though, the best surgeons I've ever known are quiet and self effacing, "Hi, I'm Joe, Doctor So-and-So exists only on paper.

But yes, docs do deserve to be paid well, no matter what the specialty.

The lowest paid should be the minions who generate paper wealth for the already rich.

I've had 3 surgeries in the past 10 months. surgeons are not gods among us. they're just people. they fuck up. they fucking well should be taxed and they aren't the saviors of humanity.
