To those who find sports and/or athletic competition a waste of time, do me a favor ...

Try and catch a little bit of the aftermath of the Uganda vs Oregon Little League World Series game. For the first time ever a team from Africa has won a game at Williamsport, but that's not even the best part. Watching the postgame smiles and hugs offered up by both the winners and the losers is what made this such a special and poignant moment.
(Disclaimer: My oldest son played Little League, Babe Ruth, High School, American Legion, Cal Ripken League, and currently plays for his college team. We are baseball nuts, but you don't have to even like the game to appreciate what happened today.)

The Nebraska team requested to play them in one of the friendly games because they like the Uganda coach and kids so much.

eking out a 1 run victory for the first ever win by a team from Africa, they displayed the same incandescent smiles. They were just out there playing baseball and having fun. I love those kids!
