Romney Literally Believes He Will Be A God Someday
I know there are those who don't believe Romney's religion shouldn't be discussed. However, as an ex-mo who is still in recovery over the brainwashing I received in that church, I think I have a right to speak out re: why Romney's religion appears to have a negative effect on him.
He is arrogant. Anyone can see that from his body language and the vocabulary he uses. My theory is, he has bought into the idea that is taught by the mormon church, that if he follows all of the church rules he will one day be a God over his own planet. I know Harry Reid is also a mormon, but his demeanor and Romneys are very very different. Reid may also believe that he would be a God someday, but I don't see him using that as a reason to be arrogant and using the "ends justifies the means" type of strategies that ruin others lives so that he could make an extra buck. Romney knows he will be a God and he is acting like he is entitled to more here on Earth because he is special in the eyes of God. Reid shows no such sense of entitlement. Infact, he is a very humble man.

1. from an atheist's POV it is a very small step from believing in a god and believing you can be one.
|
both seem equally ridiculous.
it's all about your point of view. |

4. Immaculate Conception? Are you sure about that?
|
I did not know that Obama was a catholic. Are you perhaps confusing the virgin birth with the concept of immaculate conception? They are not the same thing.

12. Interesting. I never heard that. How are they different?
|
Is it that virgin birth means you got pregnant without sperm from a man but that the cause is not necessarily divine while immaculate conception specifically means being made pregnant by god?

13. not quite

Immaculate Conception deals with Mary and the need for her to not carry the stain of original sin. So, Immaculate Conception states that Mary, by the Grace of God, was also without the stain of Original Sin so that she could carry the sinless Jesus.
Most protestants are not well versed in the difference. sP |

5. But President Obama is a humble man who does not believe he will be a God like Romney does.
|
President Obama, a born again christian, does not believe that because he is a member of the "correct" church, that he is any more important than anyone else. Infact, he does not believe there is only ONE "correct" church, like Romney does.
When it comes to religion, there is a huge difference between the two. Romney has a sense of entitlement that comes from what he was taught in the mormon church. Mormons believe they are saints. They believe they are better than members of other religions and will go to the highest degree of heaven that is reserved ONLY for mormons. They do not believe than anyone other than mormons can live with their families in heaven. President Obama believes all families will be reunited in heaven. There is a HUGE difference between these men because of their religious beliefs. President Obama does not have the sense of entitlement, the ego or the arrogance that Romney has. |

6. I'm perfectly willing to let him have his own planet NOW.

With the condition that he take immediate possession and move there immediately. Since Jupiter's a giant gasbag and spins rapidly on its axis, I think it'd be perfect for him.

14. Sorry, Jupiter is reserved by Moromons for Rush Limbaugh, if he ever converts.

Uranus is good enough for Romney, as it, too, is a gas giant.
So, I'll give Romney Uranus. |

8. We don't actually know what he believes.
|
People, even those who are religious, tend to pick and choose which bits of dogma they can relate to. That's why we can't make an issue out of "beliefs" that the candidate himself has not acted on or commented on.

15. Just the cockroaches,

not the dung beetles they are too important. Just think how high the dung would pile if he screwed up the dung beetles, from a blue planet to a brown planet. Besides, the cockroaches are almost like family.
