7. I was on a plane that had a major hydraulic issue, once.
|
We were enroute to Asia. It was a bit tense for a bit.
The plane was loaded with fuel, we had to fly around in circles dumping it into the ocean. Foamed runway and everything! Very exciting but we got down fine. |

9. Blown tire sends plane back to Newark

http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local/new_jersey&id=8778806
Flight 96, a Boeing 757, reported a problem in its left engine after it left New Jersey. It was initially thought that the blown tire had damaged the left engine of the aircraft, but the crew confirmed it is operating normally.
As a precaution the flight is returning to Newark. After an estimated landing time of 7:40pm Saturday, it's landing has been rescheduled for 8:30pm as the flight needs to burn off more fuel. |

12. According to UA Flight Status checker, it arrived back at EWR at 8:18

Last edited Sat Aug 18, 2012, 08:59 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) The flight is scheduled to depart once more at an estimated 9:00 pm. If true, it should update soon. The status checker doesn't say whether there has been a change of equipment.
(Actually it does say that it is aircraft 3126 for both "segments" of the flight.) |
