Soledad O'brien is a hero!

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/08/17/soledad-obrien-schools-republican-rep-claiming-ryan-medicare-plan-not-vouchers/

This is the second time I've seen a clip of her calling out a liar on T.V. recently (I say clip because I don't watch CNN anymore), something we almost never see anymore especially on those anemic, idiotic Sunday talk shows. She's as strong and effective in this regard as Rachel, IMO, and Rachel is my gold standard. Kudos!

Her reporting is more thorough and academic than anyone else, but Soledad is up to her standards of accuracy.

10. problem is no republican will go on Rachel's show

which is, of course, because she is so good and would destroy them but the downside is,she can't take down these clowns face to face.

Pretty soon, no republican will go on Solodad's show...but it will be fun to watch until it happens.

41. Ashleigh Banfield. Prepeare to be schooled:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashleigh_Banfield#United_States

In April 2003, in a speech at Kansas State University, Banfield raised concerns regarding media coverage of the conflict in Iraq. She also spoke against "cable news operators who wrap themselves in the American flag and go after a certain target demographic", and specifically named Fox News Channel as an example. The New York Times reported that her speech angered NBC management, who rebuked her and lowered her profile.

I was office-less for ten months ... No phone, no computer. For ten months I had to report to work every day and ask where I could sit. If somebody was away I could use their desk. Eventually, after ten months of this, I was given an office that was a tape closet. They cleared the tapes out and put a desk and a TV in there, and a computer and phone. It was pretty blatant. The message was crystal clear. Yet they wouldn't let me leave. I begged for seventeen months to be let out of my contract. If they had no use for me, let's just part ways amicably—no need for payouts, just a clean break. And wouldn't allow it. I don't know what his rationale was—perhaps he thought I would take what I felt was a very strong brand, and others felt was a very strong brand, to another network and make a success of it. Maybe that's why he chose to keep me in a warehouse. I will never forgive him for his cruelty and the manner in which he decided to dispose of me.

62. usually only the ones who are paid

like Schmidt and Steele. I'm sure she occasionally gets a republican on who isn't an MSBC paid consultant but she complains all the time that no politicians will appear.

She is too good and they are afraid of her. IMHO. Remember when Rand Paul was on and the issue turned to voting for the civil rights act? Rand said he might have voted against it because of one title and private property rights and she ate him alive. Problem with most politicians is they don't know what the civil rights act says (must pundits don't either which is what makes Rachel so good) so when they say something like Rand Paul did, Rachel knows what the provision says and beats him bloody with it.

A thing of beauty. Republicans know their ideas can't stand up to her questioning so they stay away.

63. No, those are analysts that work for MSNBC, her network.

She has other Republicans on her show and repeatedly, like Megan McCain for instance. I guess you don't watch that frequently. Sure the rabid, foaming at the mouth types like Ann Coulter won't show up because she will rip them up in two seconds flat.

Frankly, I'm grateful for that. This business of just letting RWing liars go on camera spewing all the unfactual BS lies they do and no one asking follow up questions to make them prove their points really is a disservice to the new's viewing public. Let them stay off the air voluntarily if they can't stand the heat. The public doesn't need their propaganda and lies pushed in their faces like it was real facts and information.

I like how that pud threw in the word 'derogatory' when pointing out that Ryan stole Obama's same exact Medicare fix. The only difference, and Chaffetz admits to, is where those savings go to. Ryan wants it to subsidize more tax cuts for the wealthy, while Obama puts it right back into the system.

Republican toady: "In the R-Ayn Plan, Americans give their money to the government who then gives them part of it back so they can give it to a private insurance company so they can siphon off a bit more for their profits so they can then tell you what you can and can't get coverage for based on how much money they need to make.

The reason we are now calling it premium support is because we are getting our ass handed to us over voucher and coupon. And it is a support of a premium industry that has no essential reason to exist as it provides no health care."

Soledad's response: "So in essence the fertilizer you are peddling is still bullshit?"

Perfect commentary on the subject.
