I applaud Ryan for keeping fit. If he would use his position as a Congressman and his interest in fitness to go out an campaign on the need for Americans to get and stay fit to be healthier and in the end reduce their need for healthcare and prolong their lives, he might have something to add to the public dialogue.

But he has nothing to worry about. He will have a huge pension and a lifelong "Cadillac" healthcare plan (probably exempt from the taxation on Cadillac plans in the ACA).

He may be in it for himself now, but I can't blame him for trying to stay alive for his kids.

don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with keeping yourself in shape. i do minor workouts because it helps me on my bike rides. but if you're spending 20 hours a week working out just for the hard body, you've got some issues.
