Ryan's budget is the vision for a Republican America: everyone suffers except the wealthy.

The funny thing is that he can delay it into October. This may be the first reverse October surprise in history.

(18,580 posts)That's why Romney made his pick before the convention. He was taking so much heat from offshore havens, his tenure at Bain, and his missing tax returns he needed a quick distraction. and he got it. But at what price?
The campaign usually waits until at least September because they want the VP bump to carry them to election day. As it is, the bloom will be off the rose long before that, and unless Team Romney can come up with something else, the tax issue will rise again like an annoying Phoenix and needle him all the way to the polls.
The Democratic strategists are wise to sit back and let this play out before making a move. There was a saying during the nomination process that said: "Once you know Mitt Romney, you won't like Mitt Romney". That turned out to be quite true, and I believe the same is true of Paul Ryan.
