JUst Goes To Show You How ##%#$ Up Things Are With The Vote
I was as my local city faire today at our candidates booth. Many of us were sharing stories about this election cycle. I was talking to a vote registration activist who had attended another faire this summer in another county. They were at this candidates booth and were out registering voters for this election. There were two county deputy sheriffs in the area who ordered them back to the booth or they would be arrested for illegally registering voters. They were told they could only do it at the booth. A complaint was registered with the sheriff who was in the area at the time. He suspended the two deputies without pay for the day.
Now at our booth today we had two or three OFA people who were out registering voters. There were no problems.
The incident that I just mentioned turned out ok. However, you can be sure that there are many parts of the country where the situation is a lot different. I have never seen voter suppression more open, aggressive and in your face since I was born.
My fear is that the GOP is confident about the Ryan pick. It is almost like they feel that they have succeeded already in stealing the election.
