A message from Rob Zerban, Paul Ryan's opponent in Wisconson District 1
from my email...
Scuba... Hi, I'm Rob Zerban. Along with President Obama and Vice President Biden, I have the unique privilege of being the other candidate who gets to defeat Paul Ryan this year. That's because despite running for Vice President, Paul Ryan is still running for Congress here in Wisconsin. And I'm his progressive opponent. I've been preparing for over a year now. I have a great team and raised over a million dollars in grassroots donations -- more than all of Ryan's opponents in the last 10 years combined. But to finish the job, I need your help. Can you donate $3 to my campaign so that we can keep Paul Ryan's extremist views out of the White House AND Congress? Click here. Paul Ryan supports ending Medicare. I support Medicare for All. Paul Ryan supports lowering taxes on the rich. I want the rich to finally pay their fair share. Paul Ryan thinks the way to create jobs is tax giveaways for Big Oil, Wall Street, and other big corporations. I'm a small businessman who fights for the little guy. Paul Ryan is pro-life. I am pro-choice. Tell me when to stop... The point is -- Wisconsin voters finally have a competitive Democrat running against Paul Ryan. A bold progressive. And with Ryan now ignoring local voters, 2012 is the perfect moment to defeat him for good. Please donate $3 to fuel my campaign and help me finish the job of defeating the right wing's hero. Click here. It's been exciting to work with local Progressive Change Campaign Committee members over the past year -- standing up for the 99% and fighting back for Medicare. In Congress, I look forward to being your partner as we fight for progressive change. Thanks for your support. Rob Zerban

|
Last edited Sat Aug 11, 2012, 09:28 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) I know Lyndon Johnson fiddled with Texas law so that he could run for his seat in Congress and for Vice President at the same time. But is that true in Wisconsin?
I'm going to try to check. On edit: Yep. Wisconsin law says he can. Too bad. |

38. Yes, it is true. RYAN can run for VP and his House seat from WI!
|
I expressed my hope with ONE WI, that they come up with and support a strong DEMOCRATIC candidate so we can get rid of RYAN. He and Romney HOOD are bad for the country. We have to get him off Boehner's back. The TPARTY extremists have to start losing their stronghold on the country. they are bringing us down both financially and morally.

15. Zerban can win this.
|
Ryan will be busy running for VEEP, and minding that Rmoney doesn't fuck up, which he will do anyway. Therefore, will be busy indeed.
This is a perfect time for Ryan to have an aggressive, progressive opponent in his district. Poor, poor Paul. He's going to go coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs. Hope he has a bowl, a spoon, and some milk handy. |

16. So how does this work?
|
Shouldn't Lyin-Ryan be forced to choose between running for V.P. or re-election as a Representative?
It seems to me that the people of Wisconsin should not be forced to pay for a special election should Lyin-Ryan be elected as V.P. to choose his replacement. He should have to choose in which race he is competing....either he up for Veep or Rep. Pick or choose pretty boi!!!! |
