Apparently, Even MSNBC Has Already Forgotten About Mitt's Disastrous Trip Overseas Last Week

I'm watching Michael Schmerconish filling in on Hardball today, where the discussion was about Mitt's sudden fall in the polls. Surprisingly, Nate Silver, Schmerconish and Ed Rendell all thought these polls were outliers and didn't mean all that much, because, NOTHING DRASTIC HAD HAPPENED IN A WEEK TO ACCOUNT FOR SUCH A BIG DROP IN ROMNEY'S POLL NUMBERS.

Excuse me?

Have we already discounted/forgotten Romney's DISASTROUS TRIP to England, Israel and Poland? You know, the trip where he basically disqualified himself as having the gravitas needed to represent the USA on the world stage?

Do these pundits not realize that many Americans looked aghast at that FOOL as he traipsed across Europe last week? They're saying people aren't paying attention to politics right now. That they're busy watching the Olympics. THAT'S THE POINT! Romney's disaster was tied into the Olympics, and everybody watching the Olympics watched Romney play the tactless, insulting, privileged fool.

I just can't believe that these pundits don't find that disaster even worth a mention in explaining why Romney's polls are so bad this week.

BTW - Ed Rendell is NOT a good surrogate for Obama OR the Ds these days.

No he's not.

He has triangulated himself so often that he's now nothing but a dot on the horizon.

Nate seemed especially clueless, maybe because I had higher expectations for him.

Has there been any news? Anything presented in a professional, non-bought and paid for way in the last 10 years? I watch TV, but I have not seen much in the way of journalistic news in ages. Unless of course you count the month long coverage of Michael Jackson's death...he is still dead right?

I usually like him, but I couldn't figure out why he felt he should be giving advice to Romney as to how to pull out of this tail-spin, or how to handle the debates. Very strange.

Not only did Romney have the overseas disaster but Harry Reid brought up the spector of Romney not having paid income taxes for 10 years and Romney not having an effective response. These are things that drive negatives up and that is exactly what the polls were showing -- a conformation that some drastic things did happen if one would just open their eyes.

When the discussion began about why Mitt's numbers had dropped so much and the President had a real boost,
I was expecting them to mention Mitt's overseas blunders right off the bat. I figured that would be mentioned
by Nate as one factor since Mitt's screw-ups were all over the news. I kept waiting for someone to mention
that, coupled with the steady drum beat of questions about his tax returns. I kept thinking....But weren't those polls
done during the time he was traveling in Europe and to Israel? After he had made an ass of himself??? Surely
that HAD to be a factor?? Not a word was spoken. Very odd.

If they lose, they pretend it didn't happen.

I think the solution to this is "clocking up", long lists of their failures should be posted in response to every single blatant attempt to prevent the past didn't happen, it's their strength, so it should be attacked.
