Good job guys... (Firefighters)

So as part of the job been doing what I did not do for a few years, decades... monitor EMS and fire channels.

I hear them getting to car crashes, HAZMAT incidents, fires, you know the works. People are even happy to see them.

BUT... we have problems paying them appropriately and keeping their pensions. There is a disconnect somewhere, and I have no idea how to explain this. People are elated to see them, when they show up at your insert incident here. But when you ask people about pay and all that... well they are on the public teet.

Well, after the shooting in WI, we even saw that. Walker called the cop who stopped this a hero (which he was)... but at the same time Walker and the right wants to take all the benefits and cut their pay... it simply does not compute.

Something gotta give.
