(23,867 posts)There is so much to say about this man. But it all started with his mother not allowing any room for disability to be a disadvantage. Not only that, but his attitude in the face of coming in last in the 400 meter finals, and yet still being full of good cheer. His goals were met when he took the high road long ago.
All I can say is I wonder if I can live up to him.

(33,688 posts)Hell's bells, he made it to the semi-finals at the freaking Olympics. That's a story and a half in and of itself.
And that exceedingly sweet pic tells me everything I need to know about Oscar Pistorius as a human being. Finestkind.

(71,611 posts)Anyone looking for a model of a WHOLE and COMPLETE man, just look at him and no further. He's the total package. We need look no further when we have role models like him. Ladies? Just consider HIM when you say "All men... (whatever)." Anyone who'd pass him by due to his "blades" is blind ... in ways that are a FAR greater disability than one imagined for him. We should ALL be so eager to make the BEST of what we can be!
