Confucius Say: When Romney and Boehner Open Mouth, Lies Sure to Follow

Romney and Boehner, recently, issued a barrage of lies about the Democratic majority US Senate’s budget passage record , President Obama’s job growth record, and President Obama’s private sector work experience record during interviews with FOX News(?) and the “lame stream media” (their words not mine). Here are the facts:

LIE : “The Democrat-controlled senate, it hasn't passed a budget in more than 1,000 days" (Boehner)

FACTS: According to an article at politifact.com Senate Democrats didn’t pass a fiscal 2011 budget because “Republicans were threatening to hijack the budget process and waste the American people’s time with pointless political votes.” The House and Senate have failed to pass a joint budget bill on four earlier occasions since 1983”! For fiscal years 1999, 2005 and 2007, the House and Senate failed to reconcile their different (budget) bills and pass a compromise measure because “the Republicans were in the majority in both chambers of Congress”!

LIE: "The real war on women has been waged by the policies of the Obama administration" (Romney)

FACTS: According to an article in the dailybeast.com, the first round of job losses affected mostly men, particularly in construction and manufacturing, while subsequent budget cuts by (mainly Republican majority) “state and local governments” eliminated many jobs held primarily by women, many of them teachers. The dailybeast article further states that “virtually every independent analysis” dismissed Romney’s claims as “mostly false “ as the non-partisan fact-check site Politifact put it.”

LIES: “The President has never had a job in the private sector" (Romney)
"Obama has never held a real job for God's sake." (Boehner)

FACTS: According to an article in newsvine.com, President Obama worked in the private sector for 12 years. His first jobs after obtaining his bachelor’s degree were at Business International Corporation and he held summer jobs at Sidney Austin, LLP and at Hopkins & Sutter. Of course, like most radical Tea Partied Right Wingers, neither Boehner nor Romney consider President Obama’s years of dedicated service to community organizations actual work, but that’s probably because long-standing and respected community-based organizations such as the United Way, the Red Cross, and the League of Women Voters don’t count on big paychecks and corporate jets to get the job done. Their work experience is based on long hours, little to no pay ,and lots of blood, sweat and tears. What would Romney and Boehner know about that?

LIE: “The President has never created a job" (Boehner)

FACTS: Data from the Bureau of Labor & Statistics reflect the following facts: 1) 4.4 MILLION private sector jobs were added over the last 28 months; 2) 504 THOUSAND manufacturing jobs were added since January, 2012, and 3) over 1 MILLION jobs were saved due to the President’s auto rescue program.

P.S.
What’s most mind-boggling to me is, too often, whether it’s FOXifiers or “lame streamers” conducting the interviews, the interviewers, don’t even bother to ask follow-up questions seeking evidence or proof when an outright lie is stated. I expect that of FOXified interviewers because the last thing they want their audience to hear are the facts, but when it comes to some “mainstreamers”, it puzzles me that when they hear a lie, they just mosey along with the interview as if nothing was misstated. Is it because they, themselves don’t know the facts or is it that they are slowly but surely becoming FOXified???
