A grandson of former US president Harry Truman has called for peace and nuclear disarmament in Hiroshima.

Clifton Truman Daniel visited Hiroshima on Friday for the first time.

Harry Truman authorized the use of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and another Japanese city in the final days of World War Two.

After arriving in Hiroshima, Daniel said he cannot describe his feelings in words. He added that he wants to work for peace and disarmament to prevent a nuclear weapon from being used again.
