Woman said Buddy Dyer's teenage son begged her not to call police after crashing into home

A woman who called 911 to report that Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer's 17-year-old son crashed into a home told a dispatcher the teen and his passenger begged her not to call the police and was "probably intoxicated."

Drew Dyer received a ticket for careless driving after he crashed into a home at the intersection of Gerda Terrace and New Hampshire Street in College Park shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, causing an estimated $20,000 in damage.

The homeowner told Orlando police a young man at his door offered to pay for the damage, but left before officers arrived.

A woman who witnessed the crash told dispatchers the teens involved were "hovering" around her car and begged her not to call police, according to a copy of the 911 call obtained by the Orlando Sentinel on Friday.
