Adam Smith, Chick-Fil-A Drive-Through Bully, Hassles Fast Food Employee And Gets Fired

In a video posted to YouTube earlier today, a man named Adam Smith goes to the Chick-Fil-A drive-through, orders water and proceeds to bully the young female employee who serves him.

The video then went viral, and, according to a MarketWire statement, Smith was subsequently fired from his job as the CFO of Vante, Inc., a Tucson, Ariz., based medical device manufacturer.

I watched the video yesterday. Really unnecessary to berate a teenage girl just trying to make some money.

I guess he thought he was doing some "consciousness raising" or something?

He comes off looking like a jerk, loses his job, and provides fodder for conservative commentators to smear critics of Chick-Fil-A as "bullies."

I have a Hispanic friend who is very much into fighting against prejudice, etc. for which I support and have joined him on many occasions. When "Wraps" first started becoming popular, he was pissed as it was anglocizing Hispanic culture, and he... didn't berate a counter worker at Long John Silver's but still kind of got in her face about it. I took him aside and said, "This is a high school girl working a part time job. She doesn't have a say in what her restaurant puts on the menu or what they call it. Just order something, and let's get out of here."

3. And you should have reminded your friend

THat Hispanics don't have the franchise on wrapping food in bready things. The French have crepes, Italians have manicotti, Chinese have Moo Shoo, The Ethiopians have injera, etc, etc. It's pretty much a worldwide phenomenon.
