The problem, I suppose, is that 'Mafia' is both literal (the Sicilian "La Cosa Nostra") but also largely metaphoric, referring to any organized crime with quasi-Italianate roots. The Wiki article I linked to made it sound as if Capone was actually battling with one of these Italianate organized crime outfits. So, anyway, I'm going to shut up now before I stick my foot in my mouth any further |
