LOL !!!
Hal 9000 sings Daisy
Top Comments: Everyone seemed to find this scene really creepy, but I took it TOTALLY differently. I found it really sad ... how could we do this? How could we create this kind of life and emotion, and try to keep dominance over it? I found HAL 9000's death to be tragic ... idk, maybe I'm nuts ...

As I said to Willy T, I'll watch it with my spouse though he's likely
seen it fifty times because he's both a boomer and a sci-fi freak. |

5. First... You MUST SEE This Film... And If It Makes No Sense To You... Read The Book...

But the astronaut you see, has had an attempt made on ending his life by the computer (HAL) controlling the mission.
Astronaut gets back inside the ship, and decides to give HAL a "lobotomy". |

7. Hi...Thanks for your response..I will see it, and I'll try the book if I don't get it..

Yes, this is one of those films I SHOULD have seen "Space Odyssey 2001" since
it was a baby boomer classic along with "The Graduate", "Bonnie & Clyde", etc. but never did. Judging by a post downthread, it seems that "Hal" isn't much taken with the lobotomy plan, LOL., I remember it creating a lot of buzz, of course, and I WILL rent it and watch it with Mr. Whathehell, though I'm sure he's seen it twelve times, being a Sci-Fi Freak, which I'm not, though I think of "Blade Runner", a kind of sci-fi film noir, IMO, as one of my all time favorite films. There...That's probably more than you wanted to know! |
