Man shoots himself in thigh while riding down Highway 273, deputies say
A man was taken to a local hospital after he shot himself in the leg while riding down Highway 273 around 2 p.m. today.
Jimmy Hager, 32, of Redding, was riding in the passenger seat in a 2005 GMC pickup truck on Highway 273 when he reached into the back seat for a .22-caliber revolver, said Sgt. Brian Jackson of the Shasta County Sheriff's Office.
While he brought the gun to the front seat, it fired accidentally, sending a bullet through his thigh and exiting just above the knee, Jackson said.
He said he didn't know why Hager had grabbed the gun, or the identity of the driver.

7. "it fired accidentally"....No, the idiot pulled the trigger.
Guns do not normally "fire accidentally", the trigger is pulled an it fires as designed.
1) The guy is an idiot.
2) He has a legal claim against the manufacturer for a defective product.
My guess is #1
