I think that if I was Michele Obama, representing the US at the Olympics.....
....I would have attended the Romney's horse Dressage event. An American competitor is an American and we are rooting for our nation. Would have been a good way to show that we believe it is best for us to come together as a nation.

1. Spending time, as she did, with our

military families was a much better use of her time IMHO.

2. The U.S. team consists of several hundred athletes.

It would be impossible to attend every event involving an American participant, and in any event dressage is a minor sport that, frankly, not many people are interested in. Certainly Michelle Obama has never indicated any interest in it, while she has expressed an interest in gymnastics and track and field. If she had gone to the dressage competition it would have looked phony - either like she was pandering or was trying to one-up Ann Romney.

3. Michelle didn't stay in London long enough to attend the dressage events, which started today.

5. Americans are competing in lots of other sports.

That are far more exciting and far less snobbish. She did fine.

6. I think she made the right choices while there.

The interaction between her and the athletes and the kids over there was great. Going to the Dressage event would feel staged, and she's much to down to earth to pull that nonsense.

8. If Michelle Obama was still at the Olympics...

The same people who were bitching about how many taxpayer dollars she was "wasting" would be outright apoplectic by now. Then, they would make a huge stink of her being at the dressage event to "show up" Ann Romney, and how she was only there to take away the attention from her.
