It should come as no surprise that CFA had HUGE lines today

Think about this. This was the ideal conservative movement. You know why?

1. It was based on simplistic thinking. Either hatred, or "freedom of speech" as a cover for that hatred.

2. It was cheap. There wouldn't have been lines around the block if a CFA sandwich cost $10.

3. It didn't require ongoing commitment. One meal, one day, and "we sure showed them liburls!!"

So... dumb, cheap, easy. The surprise isn't that a bunch of conservatives and fundies showed up. The surprise is that every single one of them didn't show up. Now that they feel like they can declare a triumph, and have stuck it to homosexuals and liberals, there will be a few weeks of increased business for CFA, and then it'll drop off to a little below what it had been previously. When the first quarterly numbers come out, FoxNews will joyously report the increased earnings, and fundies will figure they've completely won and go on to their next poutrage. Just remember: even in an inexpensive place like CFA, we can not spend our money a lot longer than fundies can spend theirs. And in the end, it doesn't matter that much if our boycott affects CFA's bottom line. We boycott CFA for our gain in humanity, not for their loss in profit.

1. I am not shocked at all.

This really isn't a victory for Chic-fail-A in any case. Chic-fail-A might have an uptick in profits for a few days. But, what these people don't realize is they made the news. They made the news for being hateful bigots. Most people are not hateful bigots. Most people don't want to be associated with hateful bigots. So, this is a good time to find those independents and undecideds and shake your head and point out what the fundy conservatives are doing and talk about how we need to take this country back and push back against the haters.

2. Whereas I simply walked to our break room,

waited one minute and twenty seconds while the lunch I brought from home heated in the microwave, and spent the rest of my lunch hour eating and reading in air conditioned comfort.

3. They got thousands of people to try their food that have never done so before.

I understand their food is very good and I'd expect that many will come back for that reason alone.

This whole boycott idea was a bad move.

6. Standing up to bigots and their hate isn't a bad move. These Huckabee lemmings won't

go to Chick-fil-a every day for their meals from here on out, but there will be a great many people who will *never* try them and/or go back.

5. LGBT folks need to demonstrate at their local chick fil a

and ask folks what their problem is with their friends and neighbors. See if you can identify any of the buyers on site personally and ask what their problem is with you.
