So it appears there was quite the turnout for Chick-fil-a
all across the country. According to what I've read, there were long lines their stores from MA to CA.
ugh.

"Hey I know what we can do today! Let's all go out and support chickfila (whatever spellingwise). After all, that guy don't like gays!" Or here's my alternative. "Hey I know what we can do today! Let's go about our daily lives and then have some chicken on the grill! Yum! Sounds good and I support gay marriage." But then, what do I know? I'm just a Midwestern simpleton who must not have been raised right. Someone actually said that to me once, but that's another story for another time. |

I can't think of a single example of even the most ardent supporter of marriage equality saying churches should be forced to perform same-sex marriages.
I swear, I think some of these people really, truly believe that they'll be forcibly divorced from their spouse and entered into a same-sex marriage. |

If people organized church trips around it, which is what I imagine some of those mega-churches did., it would be an easy thing to do.
I think there is just one chick-fil-a in all of Savannah, GA. People with nothing better to do drove upwards of 50 miles because their pastor or some other nut job told them to do so. Just when they overwhelmed theaters with attendance of that piece of torture porn Mel Gibson made a few years back. Look. The support for Mel and his traditional godly values are off the chart in America. Yeah, right. Didn't change the fact that Mel Gibson was rapidly being recognized as a hateful, violent lunatic. |

Not surprising. This part of the city is the district that elected that nutbag, Paul Broun. Augusta is where the Southern Baptist Convention was born, after splitting with the national Baptist church because they didn't want to give up slavery. And, it's home to the Augusta National Golf Course, which still refuses to admit women as members. And, most people here are fine with that. So, no surprise they hate gay people, too. understand that their support for Chick-fil-a means that they support the fast food chain's viewpoint that they should be able to hire only married people (no unwed straights, only married straights) and fires anyone who sins and/or causes pain to their spouse.
The media keep saying Chick-fil-A has never discriminated, but the truth is that Chick-fil-A has been sued over a dozen times for employment discrimination. That's what a leading business publication, Forbes, stated in 2007, when they also called Chick-fil-A a "cult" and reported that Chick-fil-A's founder and CEO Truett Cathy said he wanted to hire married people because they are more industrious and productive. Truett Cathy has also said he would probably fire someone who "has been sinful or done something harmful to their family members."
