The New Normal is an upcoming American television comedy series that is scheduled to premiere on NBC Tuesdays at 9:30/8:30c after the new comedy series Go On, as part of the 2012–13 television season. The network placed a series order in May 2012. The series premiere is scheduled for September 11, 2012.

Premise

A woman becomes a surrogate mother so a gay couple can start a family.

How can one pregnancy fill up a series?

I don't know. This just doesn't feel realistic to me as a comedy. I have a relative who considered a surrogate and decided to try for an adoption instead; the issues are so fraught. And there are so many children who need homes.

It really is so sad. I guess I grew up to believe you should let people make up their own minds. Everyone has a right to be happy. If gays want to marry then let them. They sure don't hurt my marriage. My goodness. I don't get it.
