The question is NOT "Are you better off than you were 4 yrs ago?" but ---->Last edited Wed Aug 1, 2012, 01:13 PM USA/ET - Edit history (2)
"Back in the summer of 2000, America's biggest problems were what to do with the surplus and how to punish Clinton for Monica. Then Bush stole power and reversed America's course." from http://www.bartcop.com/2912.htm

4. I love this!
|
After a 20 year freelance career, in 1998 Mr. Pup got a fat sign-on bonus when he landed his first 'real' job at a corporation. Now, his company has clawed back the overtime and doubled what we pay for health insurance. The Republicans, according to Grover Norquist, only need a robo-signer and not a participant in government to achieve their aims. They don't need anything more sophisticated than a sock puppet. I'm most worried about vote-counting in down-slate races.

2. For some of us..
|
.. it's not one or the other, it's both. For me and mine, the answer to both questions is the same.
Oh, and btw, "The Bush Tax Cuts" could have been ended. Might I suggest that this meme will self-destruct rather quickly? |

7. The point is, "we" tried it the Republican way for a decade, it failed.
|
Lowering taxes for the top 1% got us what?
Two recessions and the mess we're now pulling ourselves out of, slowly. |

5. I'm much better off than I was four years ago
|
I had mixed feelings about bailing out the auto companies, but I think that is what has made Michigan so much better the past few years.

6. I'm not as well off financially, but less hassles and more sanity. But then, I live in a blue state.

8. The REAL question is:
|
"Are you better off than you were 40 years ago,
before the Reagan Tax Cuts, "Free Trade", Union Busting, De-Regulation of Corporations, and "Too Big to Fail"?" You will know them by their WORKS, not by their rhetoric, promises, or excuses. 9. Reagan took office in 1981, right?
|
So it would be "Are you better off than you were 30 years ago?"
(It was the Reagan policies of the 1980s that brought us to this point.) |

10. I had my best financial years ever in the 2000's
|
While the Bush cuts were in place. On the other hand, I've had my worst years ever over the last three also with the Bush cuts in effect. This year is the worst year I've ever had, haven't worked a single day and it's already August.
So my answer to that question is, I was but I'm not anymore. |
