I Live In Arizona. And I've Noticed Something Remarkable: I Have Yet To See ONE Romney BumperSticker
Saw *two* Obama stickers just yesterday driving on the freeway, though.
If you ask me, this "close race" narrative is total bullshit...

In fact in the east bay area the only folks who have bumper stickers are Moms and Dads of soon to be honor role students, Nobel Prize Winners and a few tea party fruit-cakes who you look out for anyhow. What is that thing about having to use a step ladder to get into your car? |

and hardly any yard signs.
What really amazes me is with a hot repeat of the close House in '10 race there are NO Bishop or Altschuler signs around. None, nada, zip. (I'm not counting the one or two by party bigshots or family members) This means to me that there will be a dismal turnout. Obama isn't exciting people like he did last time, and Romney is a embarrassment. No coattails to hang on to for the lesser races. Ergo, why bother to vote? That is the question. FWIW, isn't it generally accepted that old farts always vote while everyone else comes and goes? Most of 'em seem to be Eisenhower Republicans, but a lot us newly minted old farts forged in the '60s are replacing them, although not so much with their instinct to vote. |

I haven't seen any bumper stickers for Romney, but to be fair, I've only seen a few old Obama stickers.
I did see my first yardsign for Romney yesterday though. It stood out to me, beacause I realised I hadn't seen a single pro-Romeny sign of any kind before here in western WA state. Must have been a Mormon household. I can't imagine too many people voting FOR Romney in any case. The man has virtually no charisma or personality that I can detect. I can imagine many people voting AGAINST Obama though, especially if the economy doesn't improve. Many voters are that shortsighted, I fear. |

I saw one the other day, and one a few weeks back. Yard signs too are completely absent. I have seen exactly one house (an estate actually) with Romney signs outside their gates, but they are heavy duty republicans. GOP presidents/vps always go to this house when in Dallas. I live on the edge of a heavily republican neighborhood and would normally expect to see a lot more love for the GOP candidate.

Saw one the other day on an elderly woman's double min cooper, as she left her expensive gated community. Other than that.. I had seen some earlier in the summer, two actually, left over from the primaries. Otherwise... it's ALL Obama. And my area is around 60/40 Republicans, LOTS of retired military.
I really question the narrative that Romney has the same or more followers than Obama. Considering that 60% of Romney's, non PAC money, comes from only THREE families. He has only 40% of regular donors (and of that, I doubt it's lots of $30.00 donations.) |

Arizona is in play. About 3 months ago, Obama had a 2% edge. Now it shows Romney ahead by 10. Highly unlikely for such a massive shift when Romney has been bludgeoning himself on a daily basis. 18% were still undecided at that point, also. Romney probably does have a slight edge, but nowhere near 10 points. The Obama campaign needs to get in there and make sure the Arizonans know that the GOP plan to fund lower taxes on the wealthy is to cut into mortgage deductions tax write offs. This is a state that banked everything on the housing bubble, slashing their state taxes, thinking the housing market would fund everything. Now they're hemorrhaging $2 billion a year.

58. The polls have supported the 'close-race' narrative
|
Not counting the one that came out this morning.
While we could reason that it is to the benefit of both Romney and the media to maintain that it is a close race, we can't argue with the poll numbers. |

62. Teabaggers don't much care for Mr. Romney.
|
They'll hold their nose and vote for him, but that's about as far as they'll go.
As for a "close" race, yeah... check out electoral-vote.com for the story on that one. It's not even close, Obama's wiping the floor with him. |

63. Romney bumper sticker
|
Well I live in Kentucky and I don't have a chance. I'm voting for Obama anyway. I have a beat Romney sticker on mine, somebody will probably blow my car up. Republican is all they know here, I don't know why.

66. Question: Why don't we see very many Romney bumber stickers out there?
|
Answer in the form of a Question: Is it, perhaps, that there are too many militant leftists out there with sharp keys?
.... Relax, it's just a joke! |

67. Could it be a calculated choice by the state party brain trusts?

Last edited Wed Aug 1, 2012, 02:44 PM USA/ET - Edit history (2) I was told both parties in North Carolina are saving money by not producing and distributing as many stickers or signs because research says the internet has more impact on their core voters. I also heard that there were teams hired to remove or obscure signs for democratic or non-teaparty candidates. I was told this by a party insider so I give it some weight here in NC. There were surprisingly few signs or stickers used by either party during the lead up to the primary.
In NC there are relatively few signs or stickers as compared with previous campaigns. We expect that to change towards the end of the campaign season. I wonder just how much fear technique is behind it. The idea that you do not want to show who you are committed to until a key point seems counter-intuitive. On the other hand if you believe you will be attacked for having a political view... We have a divided state on many issues with a huge deficit of real information vs Corp-O-News. It is also an old and regrettable practice here for some NC Democrats to avoid association with national office races to avoid being attacked as too liberal for NC. With all the money dumped into the GOP campaigns for TV and Internet attacks one can appreciate the reasoning if not the result. Ugh! |

I've seen several Obama 2012 stickers - a couple still had their '08 sticker, too.

once he picks a running mate. Once the ticket is set is when the bumper stickers and yard signs typically start showing up.

71. Hint: the entire mainstream media narrative is bullshit, but sadly
|
the race for prez of the United Corporate States of America is very close, half the people in this country actually respect criminals like Robme for being able to get away with their crimes as they too wish they could get away with.
The other half will vote for someone who won't hold the very same criminals accountable for anything and caters to big criminal banks, simply because he's not as bad as the other candidate, or so they think. Moreover, it's doubtful that a person's vote even matters where elections are easily manipulated and most information is pure propaganda. It's a nice fantasy to imagine that people aren't as dumb as they are but it's just a fantasy, they really are that dumb, that criminal and that easily bought. |
