http://www.facebook.com/groups/445299058843580/
I saw this on Facebook. I hadn't heard about this. Is this legit, or is some wingnut being cute?

1. I can't access FB at the moment
|
but if this is legit, it's pretty stupid (and I support OWS).
I have my qualms with Obama, but we are completely fucked if Romney gets in. And that's possible, regardless of how bad he looks right now. Just remember what happened in 2000. |

2. Doesn't appear to be coming from any of the official sites.
|
Or any tactical briefings from AdBusters.

3. Probably some kind of false-flag operation, made easy by Occupy's inherent anarchism
|
It's very difficult to tell what is "official" with Occupy and what is not.
That also makes it easy for Occupy people to disavow bad behavior done in their name. They just have to say "The people who did X weren't real Occupy members." |

4. If it does not come from the GA it is not legit
|
I do not see any possibility of such a resolution making it through the GA, there may be a few Occupiers who feel this way but they are not a majority and there certainly is not enough of them to reach the consensus that GA requires.

5. It is NOT OWS, looks more like false flag
|
than anything else.
That said, SOME members of OWS will not vote, but were not planning to vote before OWS |

7. We can't lose (more of) the Court
|
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I am totally sympathetic to opposition to what is, on too many issues, essentially a one party system, but we are this close to losing our democracy for good in this country.
We are right on the brink. I despaired for the world and for America during the last Presidential election cycle - I am deeply worried that our system of government could be on its last legs thanks to this election cycle. If you're OWS and you're supporting not-voting, you're just supporting being arrested faster and more indiscriminately and having less rights to fight back against a baton stick across the face and less (or "no") electoral ability to challenge the people deploying the storm troops. I would think anyone OWS would see the danger we are in as clearly as the rest of us do. |

8. Source has a disclaimer: "This content is user submitted and not an official statement"

The FB page was created by Teri Lee, who made the original OWS user post on Feb. 10.

10. Why would we boycott the election
|
There is too much at stake to discourage people, particularly progressives and pro-Obama voters from voting. I don't get it and am curious as to what in the world would prompt you to take such action. It does not appear to be supported by OWS.
