Too many bad memories there. He can gracefully let them off the hook by "skipping". It doesn't matter to him anyway. He'd rather not go. Stay home, get drunk, or something.

George W. -- and Dick Cheney, too -- are skipping the convention because the GOP doesn't want voters associating Romney with THEM.
