Top Gear is about suped-up cars. In redneckism, suped-up cars transcend language and cultural barriers.

the big headline in today's paper had nothing to do with Romney's London woes but was ECONOMIC GROWTH SLOWS--in the end it will be the economy that matters and that's why it's going to be a close election.

I could have sworn I saw him on the daily show talking about traveling and eating a bunch of weird stuff.

I thought it was a series or maybe a book.

I can't find anything and it's driving me nuts.

... "Top Gear" , UK edition, is a car show that focuses on general petrolhead culture, presented by 3 hosts of which Clarkson is the most senior, and politically conservative/libertarian one. All three of them, including Clarkson, are partly doing a comedy job, with their teenage-boy antics, verbal infighting, British humor, and crazy automotive adventures around the world all combining to make Top Gear UK one of the most popular Tv shows on the planet.

Top Gear has a US spinoff, and the Top Gear UK guys are worldwide celebrities, working on other TV shows and as columnists on the side.

Clarkson had 2 anti-Mitt tweets last night; the other one was:

My ideas for the opening ceremony were rejected. I suggested we should crash a burning Jag into Mitt Romney.

but Jeremy pretty much hates all things American.
My hubby watches this show and I think he's said one or two nice things about the US...
Not that I could really blame him after that trip to Alabama...

They were chased out of town by a bunch of armed rednecks.
I swear, not all Americans are like this!!!

They painted things like " NASCAR sucks" and " Hilary for President" on their cars. Really pissed them off!
Those guys take their NASCAR very seriously!!
