Battlefield Earth - United Bases of America (won't feed or educate your kids, but boy are you safe!)

Despite the pending troop withdrawals in Iraq and those in Afghanistan between now and 2014, the United States remains a superpower on a scale not seen since the days of the Caesars. With this in mind, the National Postís Richard Johnson takes a look at the scale of Americaís forces.

4. However, Ron Paul has criticized this and Barack Obama supports it...

therefore you must never mention it, or the Republicans win.

That's half of your federal discretionary budget, right there. Destroying your security and theirs, all around the world. Sacrosanct.

7. The USofA must have a military (or contractor) ready to strike at a moment's notice

in any populated part of the Earth. Terrorists can be lurking anywhere, and as we've all been rightly taught by our highly respected government, they must be feared, hunted and killed - no matter what the cost.

15. If there was a sequel to Travolta's movie, people would unite to defeat the monsters.

The terrible Travolta movie was based on a pretty good book by L. Ron Hubbard (please forget that he started Scientology). The movie largely skips over the best part of the book in which people from all over the planet unite in order to defeat the monsters. The theme of the book is that 'it takes all types to run the world.' This is not the way of America where the only type allower are those that have money and worship savage capitalism.

16. Wow, I never knew anyone who read the book.

And I walked out of the movie. I might never have known the plot if you hadn't told me.

I believe the four shown in Iraq are still being held under State Department authority, although hundreds of bases in Iraq have now been surrendered. But even without those...

21. Thanks for posting. As for the closed Iraq bases, who knows what the truth is.

With some wild-eyed candidates (republicans) who are ready to launch missiles at Iran, and with President Obama signing the bill on Saturday that targets Iran's central bank as part of the West's efforts to pressure Tehran over its nuclear program - well, another who knows what might happen to incite another war.
####

The United States and Israel have not ruled out military action against Iran if diplomacy fails to resolve the Islamic state's nuclear row with the West.

The European Union is considering following the United States in banning imports of Iranian crude oil. U.S. President Barack Obama signed new sanctions against Iran into law on Saturday, stepping up the pressure by adding sanctions on financial institutions that deal with Iran's central bank.

Meanwhile, Iran said the new record low of the national currency to the U.S. dollar was not linked to the latest sanctions from the United States targeting the country's central bank.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Tuesday insisted there "is no relation" between the two. He said the American sanctions "have yet to be put into practice."
