If I said, "It's fun to go shooting," would I get slammed?

I like target practice shooting.

I own a .22 pistol, and I've fired guns as big as a .50 rifle. (You kidding? It WAS one helluva rush!)

I'd love to go to that Oklahoma full auto get-together.

But now I'll be told I have blood on my hands, that I have a little penis, etc, etc.

People, it is *NOT* the fucking gun!
It is the guy shooting it!

So part of the reason we have such lax gun laws is because it's fun? sadbear Jul 2012 #1

Of course, it's always that way - gun grabbers somehow *KNOW* that the 2nd amendment means something different than what it says and everybody but them has it all wrong.

There are a lot of firearms you, Edweird, are not allowed to own. Is that not an infringement?

I'm comfortable with the level of 'restriction' as it stands. But thanks anyway.

Perhaps you would like to argument with the other pro-gun posters who are adamant that fully automatic firearms are indeed illegal to civilians. Are they wrong?

"Basically, there are 2 ways that an individual (who is not prohibited by Federal, State, or local law from receiving or possessing firearms) may legally acquire NFA firearms:"

What Federal, State, or local laws could prohibit individuals from receiving or possessing firearms? Who do these laws apply to? I'm not an expert. Just curious.

I recall that it includes things like restraining orders, felonies, domestic violence, drug addiction, mental illness, dishonorable discharge and some other stuff. That's for here in Florida. It may very well be completely different where you are.

I think it is great if people get enjoyment out of target shooting. I don't even have an issue with hunting.

I have never fired a 50 calibar, but imagine it would be fun.

All and all, target shooting and hunting is not for me, but again I have no problem with others who like doing it as a hobby.

Have you read the Fortune article on the Fast and Furious BS situation.

I do have a problem with some dude on food stamps with 20k of income buying 300k worth of guns out of a shop in Glendale, AZ, then walking out and turning them over to gun runners and the record stops with the gun sale to the dude who was a meth addict. It shouldn't be perfectly legal for him to sell the guns that end up in Mexico.

Just a little bullet, that makes the target (in our case, we use tin cans,) go "Pink!" and fall off the fence.

Missed this weekend because we were so busy, but plan on shooting next Friday.

Saturday we have a 30 mile bike ride scheduled so I don't think we'll be shooting two days in a row.

We're looking to add two more 22's to the fold in the next little bit. A nice 22/45 and a dedicated upper for our abandoned lower I just built.

We go to a couple of different friends houses and BBQ and informally shoot skeet a few times a year each.
