By the time I realize my husband does not know he should turn, we are too close to the turn to point it out. He will slam on the brakes in an attempt to still make the turn, regardless of whether someone is directly behind us. It's far, far safer to calmly say something like "Oh, I think we wanted to turn back there" after making sure no one is behind us in case he still overreacts.

spoken word department. I'll have a question or comment, he'll wait just a bit then ask, "What were just saying,?...".
Of course, by then I've moved on thoughtwise. The "rule" is supposed to be if you don't hear me or can't respond, tell me when it happens. Otherwise it's bloody hard to remember what I said as I have moved way down the thought path since.

haven't told me yet. And besides, they're the driver, so where they / how they drive is the law of the car, and me as the passenger, is at their mercy. Ha ha heh.

Sometimes you get a pleasant surprise, eh? You end up somewhere that you've forgotten or wanted to go, but they remembered!
