Former President Donald Trump on Friday night blamed the stage contractor after appearing to momentarily wobble during his rally in St. Paul, Minnesota.
A clip of the moment was posted by the X, formerly Twitter, account Biden-Harris HQ, which is associated with President Joe Biden's reelection campaign. In the footage, Trump leans on his podium and tips toward the left while addressing his supporters, moving the dais with him.
"You know, this is the worst platform," Trump said after his lurch. "Who put this stage up?" "It keeps tilting further left," the former president added. "Like too many other things."What a crappy contractor this was."
The Biden-Harris HQ account described the former president as "feeble" in the incident, writing in its post, "A feeble Trump nearly falls down on stage after he leans on his podium too hard and then goes on an angry rant calling his event workers 'crappy.'"

(21,825 posts)I would have laughed though if TSF did a nose dive.

(1,415 posts)It didn't look like anything he did (sad to say). And his response was not befuddled, as I think it would be if he was the one who stumbled. I would love it if he tumbled down a huge staircase, but I am not going to see stuff that isn't there just because I want to. Just MHO.

(11,525 posts)No. Nothing even close. And nothing to be gained by pretending - when clearly anyone that sees the clip - is gonna' be saying, "WHAT .. where ..?"

(6,959 posts)That doesnt look like the work of IATSE stagehands or related crafts. The cheap podium looks like a campaign prop, not a sturdy stage device for real men with girth like him.
The boy gets what he pays for, he shouldve paid for a podium size husky. And hired a union crew.

Lara hired em.
Or he is just a fat ass that needs to lean heavy on a podium to even stand, and his pants got filled up adding weight.

Woe to any sychophant who fails to get the subliminal message and shows up to stroke his scrotum wearing a red tie instead of blue on Monday.

(4,970 posts)In a longer version of this clip that I saw, an ad pops up to the right of him advertising a new Trump children's book being sold by Mike Huckabee, whose daughter is in a scandal over purchasing a grossly overpriced podium.
Maybe he could stiff the people that she bought hers from.

(5,734 posts)The top video on the feed I see is Biden falling on stage at an Air Force graduation and the Trump video is embedded in the text of the story. And the Biden video is in large format whereas the Trump video is in the small X format. More MSM bullshit.

(131,075 posts)and is something that Democrats need to do MORE of so we don't continually have DU whining about -
1.) "'Democrats' have no spine"
2.) "'Democrats' are keeping their powder dry"
3.) "'Democrats' are pearl-clutching"
4.) "Democrats' bring feathers to a gun fight"
5.) "'Democrats' always "go high when they go low"
6.) "'Democrats' never fight back"
7.) "'Democrats' always 'turn the other cheek'"
and other nonsense that I have seen posted here the past 16 years.
This gets reflected in why the so-called "mainstream media" continually headline their articles "Democrats worry...", "Democrats are concerned that...", "Democrats fear that..." and other bullshit.
We need to get tough.

(24,406 posts)lets people say "both sides are the same"
BumRushDaShow
(131,075 posts)and has generated quite a bit of "enthusiasm" among Democratic voters and the party "base".
The "both sides" argument doesn't apply here because "politics" is a rough and tumble occupation and it's long past time to get "rough and tumble".
When a bully hits you, you hit back.
For far too long, Democrats have been painted in negative terms as "weak", with mocking like the denigration of "bleeding heart liberals", and more recently, painted as so-called (fragile) "snowflakes" and other nonsense because of past, weak-kneed responses to attacks.
We don't have to "work harder" but "work smarter", and in this new environment, the trolling IS having an effect, as it's not expected. In fact, it has completely thrown off the opposition's game plan. Bullies are cowards and when they are confronted and called on it, they ultimately slink away.
