I WON'T PLEDGE TO ACCEPT THE RESULTS OF THE 2024 ELECTION,

Last edited Mon May 20, 2024, 11:15 AM - Edit history (1)

especially if the Republicans try to steal it through legislative technicalities.... such as refusing to certify state results, and throwing it into the House of Fascist Representatives..... If that happens, then "it's ON"

But I'm nobody.... although I am more of a patriot than the Republicans
have been electing to represent their gerrymandered House districts
and red states.... who have the power to really fuck this country over

I hold no office, but IMHO all those Republicans who DO hold an office,
but refuse to abide by the results of the presidential election
(if they don't happen to like the results),
ought to be REMOVED from office....

I don't much care by what means--- hopefully by an election first, or an 'act of God' second,
but if by an act of Satan, I could live with that too.

Agree, save for one thing: NC now, with a fair map, is a 7 7 tie, the new map will take it to 10 R 4 D, or even 11 R 3 D Celerity May 20 #11

That is due to illegal gerrymandering in FL, WI, and NC.

But there's no way that FL or NC switches without a substantial democratic gerrymander. Our voters are too densely packed together, and they hold both senate seats.

Note - I'm not saying that they haven't successfully gerrymandered both states... just that an undoing of that wouldn't shift the delegation blue overall.

On Friday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court declined to hear a challenge to the state's congressional map. The order was a blow to Democrats, who had argued that the map unfairly advantaged Republicans. It was also unexpected after liberals took control of the court with the election of Janet Protasiewicz in April 2023; Protasiewicz did not participate in the order.

As a result, Wisconsin will use its current congressional map, which has six Republican-leaning seats and two Democratic-leaning seats, in the 2024 election.

There's no way for us to win an election that is thrown to the House unless there's a wave so large that the presidential election wouldn't be in down anyway.

What I was saying was that WI could well be argued to be the results of a gerrymander. But the gerrymandering in FL/NC only impacts the size of the red majority, not the existence of one. Any balanced map in either state would still result in a red congressional delegation... just a smaller one. But a reasonable map in WI might have switched the delegation blue depending on how Baldwin does in November.

The Rethugs retook control of the NC Supreme Court, and reversed the previous NC SC decision that banned the massive Rethug new gerrymandered map.

I agree Florida, even with a fair map, is now pretty unlikely to yield a state delegation with us in charge.

WI, with a fair map, could very likely flip to our control.

It is a HORRID system (Electoral College in all aspects and the 269-269 tie breaker and/or 'no one at 270' rules).

Imagine if Trump only flips 3 states (GA and AZ revert to their normal Red, plus NV) Nebraska stops splitting EVs (so we cannit poach NE-2) and Blue Maine still refuses to stop splitting their EVs (thus almost for sure giving one to Trump, ie ME-2). Biden wins all the rest of the swings states he won in 2020.

That simple scenario (or say NE doesn't stop splitting and Trump wins NE-2 anyway) yields a 269-269 tie, and a loss in the House. All because Blue Maine refuses (even with a clear and present danger) to stop basically guaranteeing they give the Rethugs one of their EVs.

It also, as Biden will very likely win the popular vote by millions, kick off extreme violence, as millions will not accept a rigged US House, using an arcane (that is racist as well) 18th century apparatus to appoint Trump as a likely aspirational dictator.

The Ohio political map absolutely is gerrymandered in favor of republicans. But that isn’t the same thing as saying that the gerrymander is responsible for the congressional delegation being red. It impacts the size of the red majority… but Ohio overall has turned pretty solidly red. A fair map would still result in a red delegation even if Brown is able to hold in November
