Wish me good luck, please, trying to catch the Aurora tonight from NYC... [View all]

Yesterday NYC was overcast.
It will be sunny today.

While it will be clouding up later at night for future rain, it will still be on the clear side after dusk.

I can get to Fort Tryon Park (2nd most northern park in Manhattan) fairly easily, and stays open way past 9PM. It partly faces The Palisades of NJ/NY northwestward, and up the Hudson River, but also has a wide northern view which has less light pollution.

My smart phone only works right now plugged in (needs new battery), so I'll take my tablet; even if the camera may not be as good. Maybe it'll work, if it's there, and I can't see it.

Both my parents saw them at different times. My dad visiting Seattle in the late '60s.

My mom as a kid in very early 1930's! Her family was sleeping on the apt building roof top in the summer night. They started to notice glowing red light northward. Eventually they got the full rippling green curtains experience! Amazing!

I obviously don't expect the curtains but, dang, any red, or green or whatever other color(s) glowing in the sky.... I'll be thrilled! 👍 🥰

We'll see! 😁🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
