PsyTrans or Psytrance

I'm 73, into 60s and 70s music and my 46yo niece (by marriage) is living with a small group of kind what people from my generation would call commune kind of folks that are into microdosing, tattoos, work only enough to pay her bills, etc. They are into Psytrans music. I google it and it reminds me of the Burning Man Festival music, or Rave music (I always think of Ecstasy when I say that) has a good beat and enjoyable but seems to go on and on forever.

The music seems popular these days. And to be totally honest it seems maybe influenced by a drug culture. Maybe just a generational thing.

It is really none of my business - just curious and interested in your thoughts about this genre of music.

I prefer to listen to it in a relaxed atmosphere. I can only take so much at a concert setting. It can get tedious I'n my opinion. If you want to lay back and play around in your head, it can be fun.

Not entirely unpleasant, but definitely not my cup of tea. I guess I'm just too old (79).
