What the hell is wrong with some people???
The 66-year-old star of Fargo and Boardwalk Empire was assaulted late Wednesday morning in Manhattan and taken to a nearby hospital with bruising, swelling and bleeding to his left eye.
Steve Buscemi was assaulted in Mid-Town Manhattan, another victim of a random act of violence in the city, according to a statement Sunday from his publicist. He is ok and appreciates everyones well wishes.
The assault was first reported by the New York Post. The New York Police Department put out a nameless statement on the assault Wednesday. Buscemis representative confirmed Sunday that the unidentified assault victim in the police statement was the actor.

(13,562 posts)My husband was hit on the subway on his way to work two months ago. His 86 year old aunt was punched in the face and knocked down a few weeks ago. Another father at my daughter's school was punched in the middle of the day on the subway in front of his two sons.
It's happening a lot, and most of the perpetrators are drugged out and need interventions. They're arrested and let out right away.
It's bad enough in the city that it's making me reconsider where we send our daughter to high school.

finally got him punched in the face.
EDIT: Omg, I was making a joke about Mr. Pink, the character he played in Reservoir Dogs, in response to a comment about that character. The tipping thing is a famous bit from the movie.
I stepped away for a few hours after posting and didnt realize what had happened
thank you to those who tried to clear it up.
I certainly dont want anyone to think ill of Mr. Buscemi. From everything Ive ever heard, hes a kind, lovely person (which suggests he does tip well lol), and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Ive enjoyed everything Ive seen him do. However
No tipping? F him.
Does he vote Republican?
On edit: Ive been corrected. It was Mr. Pink who did not believe in tipping, in Reservoir Dogs. I am again a big fan.

(58,499 posts)... wage from the same price gouging owner. And the server also tips out bartenders, busboys and hostesses out of the nothing thoughtless people who stiff servers leave them. Let him try to serve himself at the same time as all the other patrons, dealing with a kitchen, bartenders, dishwashers. I wish him luck. It is a crime and totally outrageous what happened to him, I wish him full recovery ans some justice out of the ordeal - but he's a major jerk about tipping. Why give recognition to firefighters at ground zero - they were only doing the job they were paid to do, right?

(2,194 posts)Where he could walk down the street without some thug attacking him. I don't think we live in that world, anymore, and haven't for quite a long time now. Seems like most celebrities and even government officials are having to hide behind ever-deeper layers of bodyguards and other security measures.
A while back I read something in a Dorothy Sayers & Jill Walsh book that played back to me on hearing about Mr Buscemi's attack:
--from Thrones, Dominations
Or maybe America has always been a violent nation, led by a violent government, and thus it's no surprise when so many of its citizens are violent.
